Technician will perform a variety of tasks to assist the optometrist in eye examinations and corrective procedures.
They will record patient medical histories and help prepare the patient for the vision examination.
They will also assist with entrance tests that help ensure the accurate diagnosis and treatment of a diseased eye.
Other duties may include greeting patients, adjusting and dispensing glasses, assisting patients with frame selection, ordering of contact lenses including assisting in training and dispensing, registration of new patients, telephone coverage, appointment scheduling.
On-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Performs measurements for patient pre-testing to assist the doctors Provides courteous and friendly service to all patients and contributes to building a positive work environment; maintain a professional image in appearance as well as over the phone Answers telephone promptly and courteously, transfers calls tactfully and politely, and gives accurate and careful answers Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness when entering information in computer system; make appropriate updates to records in computer system Schedules appointments and enter date and time into computer Collects co-payments at time of service, receive payment on accounts, and reconcile daily cash reports Assists patients in the selection of frames Dispenses and instructs patients in the proper care of glasses Adjusts and repairs glasses Performs contact lens training and care Balances team and individual responsibilities Other duties as assigned OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be available to work during office hours, which are subject to change:
Mondays and Tuesdays:
8am - 5pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays:
8am - 7pm, and Fridays:
8am - 2pm MINIMUM
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Strong focus on customer service and problem solving Ability to work with patients, peers and supervisors Exceptional communication skills Familiarity with computers is required Able to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings PREFERRED
Qualifications:
