A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CAREGIVER DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL As a Caregiver Direct Support Professional you support adults with developmental disabilities and brain injuries to live their best lives as independently as possible.
In a residential setting or at our day program you assist your clients with daily living activities and use effective teaching and mentoring techniques to teach them new skills and help them achieve goals.
You are happy to assist with educational skills and recreational activities while providing a safe environment and helping them find greater access to the community.
You are conscientious about reporting any concerns about their health and safety and keeping documentation accurate and uptodate.
You are energized by the dynamic team of people you work with and find the work of supporting people with developmental disabilities and brain injuries to live amazing lives according to their own needs and desires extremely rewarding QUALIFICATIONS Do you have strong written and verbal communication skills Would you be able to maintain electronic records Do you enjoy coaching and mentoring others Are you patient respectful tactful and calm under pressure Do you have the heart for serving people with developmental disabilities and brain injuries If so you may be perfect for this caregiving position WORK SCHEDULE Fulltime schedules are generally hour shifts days each week hoursweek.

Many shifts are during the day and we have some shifts may be in the evening or on weekends.
